SISSYSTRATA

by Allain Rochel

Directed by Michael Matthews

"...director Michael Matthews and his remarkable forces fuse various theatrical techniques together with arresting results.  These Greeks get under your skin."
                   David C. Nichols,
LA Times on THE BACCHAE

Five years in the future, West Hollywood is a very different place.  As the war in Iraq drags into its tenth year, a surprising fad, more popular than French Bulldogs and chocolate martinis, has sprung up in the gay community.  In an effort to assert their masculinity, all the manly tops have enlisted in the army!  To finally bring an end to the war, Seymour "Sissy" Strata organizes a sex strike among the bottom boys left behind.

A raucous new all-male adaptation of Aristophanes' comedy, Lysisytrata, created by the same team that brought you last season's smash all-male adaptation of THE BACCHAE,  SISSYSTRATA takes aim at war and the politics of gender in the gay community.  Bottoms up!
